Rishi Nanda - #Mythologist & Facilitator from #Mumbai, India

Q1    How did your career journey start? Or Who/What inspired you to start this business/ entrepreneurship?

After the birth of my daughter I started playing Bhagwad Geeta daily to her and I started listening to it too. My mind got lot of peace, and I realised I need to discover myself.

What am I supposed to do? Is the question I asked myself day in and day out, I started spending time with myself everyday and then one fine day I realised this is my calling, this is the purpose of my life and I took the plunge.

Q2    Kindly share some information about your Business, products and services here.

I am a Mythologist and a Facilitator, it is important for me that my participants explore and evolve on the topic we discuss or conduct a workshop on.

For this we conduct personality assessments using psychometric tools (I am a certified MBTI practitioner), execute various facilitating tools (Member of IAF) and experiential activities due to which one will explore their inner thoughts and evolve on their own, we create a knowledge bank amongst the participants and ensure we all learn from each other.

Mythology being my expertise (since childhood my interest has been in it) we offer dedicated seminars on “Gyan ka Mahasagar – Secrets of Mythology”.

We ensure we give simple examples from day to day life, sports, mythology, psychology, politics, etc… which ensures our participants relate it to their life and explore options w.r.t. how they can improve from where they are?

Our workshop mission is to ensure our PARTICIPANTS THINK BIG and identify their potential.
In our HOT SEAT workshops we ensure the participants not only THINK BIG but also CHASE THEIR PLAN.

We have a network of excellent trainers and we can cater to large corporate requirements.

Q3    What kind of challenges did you face while starting/doing business?

The biggest challenge I faced was to convince people around me in MY VISION. It was a challenge to take the first step as there was lot of things to be considered before quitting my high paying job. I had an internal struggle (read emotions) for 2 years (2012 - 2014), it was a fight between what I am doing (mind) v/s what I want to do (heart). But once I took the decision then there was no looking back. Mehak, my wife was and is my biggest strength, as she believes more than me in my vision.

Q4    Do share with our readers about your discovery period when you were facing difficulties in your business?

When I started I got immediate assignments as a Trainer, and I got good feedback for my work. But assignments were not there on regular basis and I was not interested in the ones that were offered to me. I was not ready to work for peanuts, I was advised if you want to earn a million a day ensure you are worth it. At this junction I was clueless.

At this stage of my life I started listening to Bhagwad Geeta daily due to which my mind got some peace and then I realised I need to discover myself.

Following this I made a 6 hours presentation to some of my friends and videotaped it and then converted that presentation into small videos and asked my relatives and friends (via various social media platforms) to let me know where I need to improve (basically criticize me) and after this exercise I understood what are my area of improvements and my strengths.

Then for one year (2014-2015) I did not take up any assignments and I started learning the art of facilitation and over a period of time changed my entire delivery style from a TRAINER to a FACILITATOR, sharpened my USP i.e. Mythology and designed 27 workshops.

After this entire experience of self introspection I used my network to get me some appointments and then grace of god everyday has been a better day.

Q5    Share with our readers about your experiment period after the discovery period?

Once I discovered my USP and my facilitation style, the road became easy, I used my network to get me introduced to their companies L&D department. Steve Jobs said, “If you want to know who your real friends are start a business and ask for help”, I think I am blessed with some wonderful friends who went out of their way to get me those appointments.

I got rejected by few corporate managers before I started getting regular work; those rejections were my biggest learning. I learned from each rejection and bettered myself. I used to analysis what I said wrong and right. Self introspection was the key.

Many told me it is not what I should focus on and get back to a job, but I kept talking to myself day in and day out with all positive thoughts, for the first time in my life I was clear in my mind w.r.t. WHAT I WANT. I believe this is my mission of life and god is testing me and whatever happens I need to pass this test. If not today, I will achieve my dream tomorrow. I was aware I will get my chance and I need to make that count.

In 2015 I formed Nibhish Consultancy, and I got my chance after 3 years and then with grace of god all my clients and participants appreciate my work. For me my every workshop is the first and last workshop so I give my 100%.
